Chicago post-punk trio Plum released their debut album Can’t Hold On To It in 2024, described by Audio Fuzz as “a vibrant mix of sounds, weaving together the upbeat rhythms of New Wave and No Wave, the experimental edge of Krautrock, and the gritty charm of Indie Sleaze.”
Formed in 2022, Plum began as a collaboration between guitarist/vocalist Jeff Kelley and bassist/vocalist Heather Perry. Their sound centers on the tension between Jeff’s angular, dissonant guitar work and off-kilter structures, and Heather’s melodic sensibility and dance-driven basslines—yielding music that’s both jagged and infectious, moody and immediate.
Known for their charged, high-energy performances, Plum has shared stages with Jack White, Acid Mothers Temple, Keiji Haino, and Brainiac.
